The South Dakota Housing Development Authority is dedicated to providing housing assistance to individuals across South Dakota. They offer home loan opportunities, foreclosure advice, legal assistance, first time home buyers, and have special programs for low to middle income, first time home buyers, seniors, disabled and also renters assistance. Funding is provided via public funds (state and federal) along with local businesses intent on developing communities.
The Homeownership Education Research Organization (HERO), an affiliate of South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA), recently announced that a toll-free South Dakota Mortgage Crisis Hotline is now available to connect homeowners directly to certified default and foreclosure counselors across the state.
